About this tool

Gas Tracker provides EVM fee references: gas is the compute unit for transactions, and unit price is usually quoted in Gwei (1 Gwei = 10⁻⁹ ETH). Congestion typically raises effective gas price.

This page pulls latest blocks and priority-fee distributions from public RPC (read-only), then shows slow, standard and fast reference prices. It also estimates USD cost for a 21,000-gas native transfer using live native-asset prices.

Token transfers and contract calls usually use more gas than a plain transfer. Treat wallet estimates and on-chain Gas Used as the source of truth.

How to use

  1. Open the page to view current gas references per chain.
  2. Compare slow, standard and fast tiers against how quickly you need confirmation.
  3. Use the approximate USD transfer column to compare cross-chain cost.
  4. Data refreshes about every 15 seconds; you can also refresh manually.

FAQ

What does Gwei mean for gas fees?

Gwei is a common ETH subunit: 1 Gwei = 10⁹ wei = 10⁻⁹ ETH. Most EVM gas unit prices are expressed in Gwei.

Why is Layer 2 gas cheaper than Ethereum mainnet?

Rollup L2s batch many transactions to Ethereum and amortize data and settlement cost, so per-tx execution fees are often far below L1.

What happens if gas price is set too low?

The transaction may stay pending or be dropped by nodes. To confirm faster, raise priority fee in the wallet or use a speed-up flow.

How accurate is the USD fee estimate?

It assumes a 21,000-gas native transfer for timing and trend reference. Swaps, NFTs and complex calls need wallet and explorer Gas Used figures.
